The shadow of death can cast long fears over our lives. But in John 14:19, Jesus speaks a word of deep comfort to His disciples—and to us. He doesn’t just promise to live again; He connects His life to ours. The resurrection of Jesus is not just His victory—it’s our guarantee of life, too.
Scripture:
“Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Since I live, you also will live.” — John 14:19, NLT
Reflection:
Jesus spoke these words just hours before the cross. He knew what lay ahead—betrayal, suffering, and death. Yet even then, His eyes were fixed on resurrection. The world would no longer see Him, but those who believed—those who knew Him—would see Him again. Not just with their eyes, but with faith.
And then comes the promise: Since I live, you also will live. This is not merely a future hope—it’s a present reality. His life is the source of ours. When He rose, He broke the power of death. And in that victory, He gave life—eternal, unshakable, and personal—to all who trust in Him.
Paul echoes this truth in Galatians 2:20: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” Jesus’ resurrection isn’t something we only celebrate once a year—it’s something we live in every day. His life sustains us through sorrow, empowers us in weakness, and secures our eternal future.
This promise also reminds us that the Christian life is not about religious effort—it’s about abiding in the living Christ. We don’t serve a memory. We follow a Risen Lord who still speaks, leads, and loves us today.
Application:
When fear of death, failure, or the unknown creeps in, remember this: He lives—and so do you. Let that truth reshape your perspective. Let His risen life give you courage in trial, hope in suffering, and strength in daily obedience. Whatever comes, you are alive in Christ—and nothing can take that away.

Prayer:
Risen Lord, thank You that because You live, I also live. When I’m tempted to fear or despair, remind me that Your life is in me—stronger than death, stronger than anything I face. Help me walk each day in the power of Your resurrection, trusting that nothing can separate me from Your love. Amen.ld fast to Your truth. Teach me to pay close attention—not just to read, but to listen and obey. Keep my heart steady with hope as I wait for the Day when Christ, the Morning Star, shines in full glory. Amen.
